Platypus Fishing Line: Australia's strongest fishing line since 1898

Knots & Rigs Uni Knot

The Uni Knot is widely used for attaching hooks, rings and swivels to the end of the line.

  1. Step 1 - click to enlarge Step 1. Thread the eye of the hook with the line so the hook is suspended on a loop.
  2. Step 2 - click to enlargeStep 2. Encircle the main line with a tag so another loop is formed.
  3. Step 3 - click to enlarge Step 3. Wrap the double strand inside the loop with the tag.
  4. Step 4 - click to enlarge Step 4. Make four wraps in all, leaving the tag protruding from the loop.
  5. Step 5 - click to enlarge Step 5. Close the knot but do not pull it tight just yet.
  6. Step 6 - click to enlarge Step 6. Slide the knot down onto the eye of the hook, pull it tight and trim the tag.
